Pakistani Singer may face imprisonment to keep exotic pets

A Model Town judicial magistrate called singer Rabi Pirzada on a Wildlife Department complaint to keep a crocodile and a python at home.

The Department of Punjab Wildlife Protection and Parks had brought a challan against her in a tribunal for taking photos and videos with the reptiles.

Magistrate Haris Siddiqui also released a warrant permitting her home to be searched by the department.

The department argued in the complaint that by maintaining hazardous reptiles at home, the singer suffered violations of wildlife legislation. It said the singer confessed that she had kept the reptiles for the last five years in a social media interview.

It told the tribunal to invite the artist and order lawsuit against her.
